Information Technology Technician

The demand for skilled individuals capable of entering the swiftly growing Information Technology sector is currently out-pacing supply in our region. This program will prepare graduates to enter the Information Technology industry in several different types of positions. If you are a keen problem-solver, love to work with people and love to learn about and through technology, this program is for you!

What you'll learn:

The program contains five courses, all of which comply with current Ministry of Education course offerings. These courses will simultaneously earn credit toward a college level ITT certificate. Students will also earn the industry association standardized certificates known as IC3-GS3 (Introduction to Technology - Global Standard) and CompTIA A+ (Computer & Technology Industry Association A+). Program fees include a new, high-performance laptop computer which you will use to complete all aspects of the program. Students who successfully complete the program will retain ownership of the laptop.

An interest in computer technology and a desire to work in the customer service sector of the Information Technology Industry. You'll need great people skills, a strong work ethic and a willingness to keep learning throughout your career.

Continuing Education: Pre- registration begins June 10th for Continuing Education Courses beginning in the Fall of 2013. Graduated students upgrading an academic course(s) with Continuing Education do not require an appointment to register. Non-Graduated students require an appointment with the counsellor to develop a course plan for graduation. Please call 604-814-0446 during office hours to make an appointment.

Official Transcripts for the 2012-13 school year will be mailed out to students by the Ministry of Education the first week of August 2013. High School Diplomas will be ready for pick up in the office in September 2013.
