Commencement 2012

Wednesday, June 6th, 2012

The Commencement Ceremony will be held at the Clarke Theatre located within the Heritage Park Secondary School campus at 33700 Prentice Avenue, Mission, BC.

Rehearsal Time: 4:00 pm
Commencement Ceremony 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Riverside College Banquet & Dance Wednesday June 6, 2012 following Commencement Ceremonies: 8:30 pm Dinner Banquet and 9:30 pm - midnight Dance at the Best Western Mission City Lodge 32281 Lougheed Highway, Mission.

All students are to pick up their own banquet ticket at the office Monday May 14th - Thursday May 24th. Student Banquet tickets are included in the Grad fees. Students may purchase up to two banquet guest tickets ($40 each) from Monday May14th to Thursday May 24th. All remaining guest tickets will be sold Friday May 25th to Thursday May 31st. The last day for ticket sales or ticket reservation is Thursday, May 31st. There will be no ticket sales at the door.

 

Grad Photos

As in past years, our school will provide graduates with photos as part of their Graduation Fees. Each student will be given 4 X 6 prints of their photos. Once the prints are produced, students may also see Janet Walczak (Room 117) to pick up their photos and to arrange to have a digital copy emailed to them if requested. The photographs will be printed in the newspaper at the end of the school year. We ask that all students have their picture taken.

Please sign up for a time at the front office. All photos will be taken at Riverside College in Classroom 212. Students are asked to dress in their graduation attire for these photographs. Gowns, caps and flowers for the ladies will be available for students. Photo appointments are only 5 minutes long. Students are asked to arrive five minutes early so they may put on the gown and prepare. Latecomers will not be photographed.

Programs will be booked in for 5 min. appointments

• Valedictorian

A Valedictorian, who will address the commencement ceremony on behalf of all students, will be selected from nominations from the student population.

• Commencement Ceremony
• Wednesday, June 6, 2012
• 4:00 p.m. Students Assemble at the Clarke Theatre (H.P.S.S.) for mandatory rehearsal. Students who miss the rehearsal will be placed at the end of the procession.
• 4:45 p.m. Pick up caps and gowns and opportunity for family photos
• 4:30-6:00 p.m. Informal reception light refreshments in Main Foyer
• 5:30 p.m. Doors open for guests to enter theatre. Tickets are not required for the ceremony. No early entry
• 5:40 p.m. students assemble in Drama Hallway to enter theatre
• 6:00 p.m. commencement ceremony starts
• 7:30 p.m. commencement ceremony concludes
• 7:30- 8:00 p.m. Students return Cap and Gown to the Drama Room
• Banquet  & Dance

• Location: Best Western Mission City Lodge 32281 Lougheed Highway, Mission

The menu is served buffet style with three hot entrees, various salads, vegetables, and dessert dishes. 

• Decorating coordinated by the Cosmetology  students.
• Graduates pick up their prepaid banquet ticket at the office and up to 2 additional tickets may purchased for guests May 14-24. Remaining tickets will be on sale May 25-31. No ticket sales at the door.
• 8:30 p.m. Dinner
• 9:15 p.m. Comments & Presentations
• 9:30 p.m. 12:00 midnight Dance
• 12 midnight Hall cleared
• This is a school sponsored event and school rules will apply. Riverside students are responsible for their invited guests.
